Our Charity

It’s Good 2 Give (registered charity number SC041416) officially came to life in April 2010 and already we have raised over £85,000 for local young people with cancer and their families. We’re little and local and 100% of the money you donate will go to the cause. No rent, no wages, no waste. In the long term, our aim is to raise £1 million to fund the build of a purpose-built respite house for young people and their families affected by cancer. This will allow families to use it for a short break together – a purpose-built, restful, safe place. On a day-to-day basis, It’s Good 2 Give provides support of another kind – anything that can make the lives of those impacted by cancer in any way easier. Whether that’s a parents pack, a workshop, or nutritional snacks, we’ll try to find a way to make it happen.
What do we do?
It’s Good 2 Give offers support to young people with cancer and their families. We also try to make life a little bit easier on a day-to-day basis.
How do we do it?
We host a range of fundraisers throughout the year, and encourage people to hold their own. We’re little and local – and we aim to get the community as involved as possible. This year, we’ve had successful ‘Blingo’ Afternoon Teas, a fabulous fashion show, pedalled 4 Scotland – the list could go on…
Who’s involved?
Anyone can give! We’re 100% volunteer-based, so every penny raised goes towards our goals. We have eight trustees and dozens of volunteers, who help at events whenever they can. We also have some wonderful figureheads.
Every penny?
Every penny. We have no rent, no wages, no waste – and we want to stay small enough to ensure that continues. So you can be assured that everything donated gets to where you want it to go.
How can I volunteer?
It’s Good 2 Give work on the basis that everyone can give. It doesn’t have to be money – you could give your time – or even your good idea. One very important thing you can give is blood. Cancer patients can nee d huge amounts of blood: it’s free, quick and – honestly! – not painful.
It’s Good 2 Gi ve want to take the duty out of giving, to make it a fun and memorable part of everyday life. Come along to one of our events and find out!
